Performers on the Summer of Love ART31 Stage will include local indie bands New Old World and Holy Pinto, Canterbury Youth Music Project, performance poetry from Word Out! featuring Emrys Plant and even more local bands programmed by Ramsgate-based young people from Pie Factory Music. The Summer of Love comes to a conclusion on Sunday afternoon, as six piece powerhouse of a band Tankus The Henge play a riotous headline set before leading a Parade Party through the festival site!
In addition to the main stage, there will also be a quieter busking area, where anyone can turn up and perform – so bring your guitars, warm up your singing voices and join in the party!
ART31KENT are really excited to be working with Summer of Love to put on this event aimed at ages 13+. As 13-25 year olds eager to #ChangeKent through arts and debate, the opportunity to join a movement making this happen on a national scale was something we couldn’t miss! Founder of the Summer of Love movement, Sam Duckworth (formerly known as musician Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly.) said
‘The summer of love is a non-partisan movement, designed to bring unity in confusing times. To discuss, to laugh and to inspire. For we are stronger together. It is with immense pleasure that we partner with ART31KENT. An organisation of young people, looking at shaping the future of Kent in a way that is both inclusive and progressive. The festival stage promises to host some of the best talent the county has to offer, whilst offering a fresh take on festival programming. Expect it to be colourful, loud and full of new ideas. Something we could all benefit from being more.’
