What is a cyanotype?
Cyanotype is one of the earliest forms of photography, known for its beautiful blue-and-white prints. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll place everyday objects like leaves, flowers, and shapes onto special light-sensitive paper. With a little sunshine and a splash of water, your designs will transform into stunning, one of a kind artworks.

Perfect for all ages, these relaxed sessions are a great way to get creative together, learn something new, and enjoy making art inspired by nature.
No experience needed – just bring your imagination!
What to bring
All materials are provided, but you’re very welcome to bring your own objects to make your artwork extra special. Ideas include:
- Leaves
- Small toys
- Stencils
- Simple shapes

Directions: From Gulbenkian walk across the Gulbenkian Lawn with the large library building on your right. follow the path with the Cathedral Meadow (view on the city) on your left and the bOing! Stage on your right. Keep going until you reach the end of the lawn on your right, and Marlowe is the large, long building just to the right.
Allow 5-10 minutes to walk from Gulbenkian Arts Centre.
