Free Things to See & Do at bOing! 2021

There is so much to see and do at every bOing! festival, and we want our festival to be accessible to as many families as possible. That’s why, every year, we host jaw-dropping, large scale family events for one and all to come and see.

So, what can you expect to see for FREE at this year’s festival?


Be prepared to have your perception of contemporary juggling challenged in this funny and inventive performance featuring 9 performers, 80 oranges, 7 watermelons. Find out more about Smashed2.

Rainbow Ballet

A sensational rainbow parade bringing a blast of colour to bOing! Inspired by the Bauhaus movement and the Triadic Ballets of the 1920s, which imagined movement as geometry, this walkabout performance from Dulce Compania features stilt walkers, rollerblades and stunning costumes. The Puppet Van: The Lost Colour

Outdoor chaos 2m in the air! A vibrant joyful explosion of colour in an energy fuelled physical show full of clowning, puppets, and paint told from on top of a van by local company and bOing favourites Half A String. Find out more about Rainbow Ballet.

Catch Me

Global Sounds Stage

A family-friendly celebration of world music and diversity in Canterbury, Music for Change are creating a fantastic line-up to enjoy in the sun. Laze on the grass and enjoy the sounds, or flail your limbs to the groove of the music. Find out more about Global Sounds Stage.

Kent Sport Mini Sessions

Our friends at Kent Sport are offering some brilliant free activities at bOing! 2021 on the Saturday including: Drums Alive, Zumbatronic, Mini Sports and Street Dance. Suitable for all ages there is no pre-booking, just turn up. Find out more about Kent Sport Mini Sessions.

An Arts & Culture Playground

Phew, there’s a lot on, isn’t there? If you need a break from the excitement and fervour of the day, you can always pop into the Playground Tent for songs and rhymes, drama, music, dance and art especially for children under 5 (and for their grown-ups too!). Find out more about Playground Tent.
