Mrs H from the Sing-Along Band
Come and join Mrs H and her band as they whisk you away on a musical journey with their infectious songs. Part theatre, part comedy, with a huge sprinkling of mischief, bring your voices, silly dances, and don’t hold back from joining in the family fun!
Based in Exmouth Market, London, for over a decade they have been entertaining the young and old in schools, community centres, festivals, venues and care centres across the UK. Wherever they are, no matter how small or large the venue, their inter-active, unique performances have become an enriching and much-loved part of thousands of people’s lives.
Founded in 2005 by actress, Harriette Ashcroft, her mission was to provide free, quality musical “drop ins” for children and their families in the London area. After meeting the musician Ted Barnes (Beth Orton, Clayhill), the show took on a new lease of life with a collective of musicians dedicated to bringing quality music to the whole family. The band includes members of Red Snapper, The Horne Section and Emily Barkers Red Clay Hallo.
Through the years together they have toured extensively, created the inter-generational project ‘All Together Now’, filmed the lock-down series “Adventures from Home” and released three albums of original material. Their fourth and latest release, ‘A Feast of Rhymes’ is a collection of nursery songs given a “new lease of life” in the bands imitable style.
Reviews:
“The Gareth Malone for under fives” – Evening Standard
“A euphoric communal experience that needs to be dived into.” – Helen Thorn, Scummie Mummy podcast.
“This was exactly the type of performance that the children should be experiencing more of. Mrs H and Ted were wonderfully eccentric and grasped the children’s attention from the get go, hilariously fun.” – Willowbrook School, Devon
