Buchettino
Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio present Buchettino
Buchettino is a classic piece of Childhood Theatre told by Italian theatre makers Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio. It is the story of Tom Thumb but unlike any version you may have seen before…..
In the dimness of a large wooden bedroom, the Storyteller welcomes you and invites everyone to lie down on small, wooden beds wrapped up ready for a bedtime story.
The Storyteller then sits in the middle of the room under a glowing light bulb. As her tale unfolds, the sounds of the story whirl around outside the room, seeping in and bringing Buchettino to life.
Created in 1995, this show is a classic piece of Childhood Theatre (it’s been staged by other Companies in France, Chile, South Korea, Denmark, Spain, Taiwan, Japan; and with a version in Sardinian language translated by Marcello Fois). Buchettino is a show that creates the conditions for listening to the fable. The text has been published by Orecchio Acerbo, in an audio-book illustrated by Simone Massi, from which the image published here has been taken.
